@sk1lldI wonder why some other overlays still work. GeForce experience, AMD ReLive, Ghub, Discord and Overwolf still work fine.
Im not sure what RTSS or Reshade is, but monitoring such as RivaTuner can be replaced by built in GPU soft. I don't think many people are playing and staring at their PC vitals the entire time.
I'm guessing that the programs you mention are whitelisted and some you mention are overlays that don't hook into the game. I see some programs that aren't working in tech support. Reshade is a software that allows you to increase sharpness and colors and RTSS "Revatuner Statistics Server" Is required for MSI Afterburner to work. All I know is all 3 programs hook into the game and don't work. So, I'm guessing EA is limiting games that hook into the game, like I said a guess only.

I don't really know, my guess is yes, it's a small advantage. But I don't know for sure having never used them.
My feeling is there should have never been cross play in the first place without mouse and keyboard support and without the ability to tweak the game in ways that console can't.EDIT; Who am I kidding? I play on a 165HZ monitor with a PC that can push all of that. That in itself is an advantage.

Your monitor is not an unfair advantage. I could play on a 32” monitor or a 60” TV. I could play over wifi or wired, wired is an advantage but not an unfair one. I could push a couch closer to the TV and that’s an advantage. Playing on headphones instead of speakers is an advantage. It’s a long list of things that could be perceived that way. Anything that unfairly changes the intended behaviour of the game, like recoil control, wall hacks etc are the real problem. RTSS is not the issue. Imagine if they throttled performance so that all video cards played like a 2080 in a laptop to be “fair”?

I used reshade to add sharpen and saturate some colors. Nvidia offers also sharpening but reshades was more precise and good quality.
- VOLBANKER_PC2 years agoSeasoned Ace@xVulture PC players can set all graphics to Minimal which console gamers can’t.
In earlier titles it meant you could see players who thought they were hiding in long grass for example, except on your screen the grass was much less dense because you ran with minimal graphics.
If it’s still like that, console players have that problem vs. PC players. - 2 years agoReshade won't make you a better player. If you suck without Reshade, it will not magically improve your abilities. Any assertions to the contrary are baseless and delusional.PC and consoles will forever remain distinct in several aspects, such as FPS, aim-assist, input methods, and input lag, to name a few. Therefore, it is utterly senseless and illogical to fixate on Reshade as a pivotal advantageous factor in this comparison; because it isn't. These platforms inherently differ in numerous ways, and it is entirely valid to argue the case for either platform based on their unique characteristics. While it's understandable that some players may seek a more comfortable gaming experience, such as simply adjusting the brightness in dark atmosphere games, it is difficult to impose restrictions in this regard. However, it's important to note that Reshade serves a different purpose. Reshade is commonly used for legitimate reasons, including enhancing lighting, making dark areas darker, introducing other anti-aliasing options, and eliminating unpleasant color tints. Penalizing users based on mere speculation of potential misuse is uncalled for and lacks proper justification.
Focusing solely on Reshade as a means of "manipulation" disregards the broader significance of players' desire to personalize their gaming experience. This desire extends beyond the scope of Reshade itself. In fact, most GPU software already provides many of the features offered by Reshade. However, players often prefer Reshade due to its reduced impact on performance and ease of use.
- 2 years ago@KNlGHTMARE Again, I wasn't trying to start a back n forth. I thank you for the input though. As a console player I don't know anything about the software ya'll are saying doesn't work after the update.
I agree that is sucks for them to prevent pc players from making their experience custom.
I also think that crossplay is silly but since it is what we get, then the advantages of both pc/console should be neutralized as best as possible. I'm glad that's not my job!

@sk1lldI am by no means trying to stir the pot or create an argument... But do you see these things as an advantage that pc has over console? That pc players can tweak their graphics in ways that consoles cannot. It can be a VERY small advantage only because it can make visuals pop a little more, make things more vibrant. It really depends on the game though, and you really can't change much with 3rd party software. In-game settings are far more important to tweak IMO.
All of that advantage gets thrown out when Aim Assist is part of the equation though. PC players rely so heavily on being able to identify the target, then track the target. When there's a bunch of visual clutter, that becomes a very strenuous task. Controller players just have to identify the target, then the assist will help them get onto target, and stay on target regardless of all the particle effects. PC players have to make every single minor adjustment while tracking. Including, micro stutters, visual clutter, weird movement because of networking, and the list goes on.
So the point is, NO, it's not really an advantage at all.
