@IPFreely_C4S the difference is in 2042 every map needs to offer every vehicle in the game... BF4 limited the selection based on the map. also the vehicle slots were half in bf4 compared to 2042. its not enough to have the Main gun and a HMG in a tank anymore... nonono we need the main gun, a selection of HMG or minigun, an additional rocket-pod or 60mm mortar and a dedicated spotter. because why bother balancing if you can just say fudge it

@X-Sunslayer-X Right. Half the slots for vehicles but with fewer players, and no stupid limitation to two vehicles of an entire class. Per map, as you said, it was possible to have each side with more than 2 tanks PLUS LAVs, etc. It it felt like the respawn times on those vehicles were shorter because I could score a tank, for example, multiple times per match.
- X-Sunslayer-X3 years agoSeasoned Ace@IPFreely_C4S Yes BF4 had on average I think more vehicles per map if you compare the 64-player varients. but vehicles in 2042 are way more glass cannons than power tools....
what you fail to understand is that 2042 is poorly thought out in this regard. what good is a tank if 3 liz players can just bully it into submission at their leisure without exposing themselves?- 3 years ago@X-Sunslayer-X And if they can't destroy it, they force it into a situation where it offers no help, pinning it into a corner so to speak. Meanwhile the rockets and c5 are inbound.
I love this game for some reason. Maybe it's the hope that it will turn from a disaster into a great BF game (it's come a long way) or it could also be that there just aren't any other shooters that I enjoy. - IPFreely_C4S3 years agoRising Adventurer@X-Sunslayer-X Agree vehicle vulnerability is largely crap in 2042. I feel like it's a double-whammy for those vehicles in 2042. Devs paid too much attention to people complaining about being targeted by vehicles while on foot, so they not only limited them across the board, they continued to directly or indirectly (via foot players and weapons, as you say) nerf them. It's a shame, really. To me CoD feels like fun because there was never the expectation of much vehicle play. With this game the expectation is there for me and it's just plain disappointing, I guess.
