Yes they are, maybe you just aren't from a time when you had to work for achievements. For years. and you look like you have 18/24 months to go.
A major part of playing Battlefield 2 was the working towards ranks and achievements, BF2Stats would predict how long it would take you to get them and help to work towards them.
Yes there were the sweaties that maxed them out in weeks, but as a normal player I worked on them for YEARS, not all because I never use armour or aircraft, sniper, etc.
Getting them really was something and because I didn't fly I never got past colonel, not that it mattered.
I saw the grenade self kill/team mate revive stat padding in the main spawn this week. Haven't seen that for 15 years.
The only thing that may be against the years is the support for the game. BF2 lasted 10 years, but it was a different age and hackers were there but not in the way they are now on subscription.
Now BFV has no active cheat protection it is unplayable, three hackers in the three rounds I could stomach before uninstall, and not maybe - definitely.
Does BF2042 have the years needed to complete the tiers? With support - yes, without and dropped in 12-18 months - no.
Personally - fantastic they take that long, a serious long term onbjective not to be worried about just played and what a change from the console awards we have had for the past 10+ years.

@halo572That is what I liked about BF2 was the longevity and how long it took for awards and such but games these days are not built to last for 10 years. Well, not FPS games. Gamers these days have an attention span of a squirrel and have no patients so games are built these days to instantly gratify and last 1 or 2 years and then move on to the next one.

@halo572 Tier 1's in 2042 are no doubt seen as this prestigious achievement but to be honest, as someone who only plays Battlefield when I have that itch, I could care less about that prestigious feeling because its only me who sees it all, and publicly only the 3 badges on my profile card.
There is no Battlelog where you can show off with your platoon or clan, or where you can share battle reports, where your profile is visible to others. It's just you unless you volunteer your data to third parties.
These achievements are "worthy" when they're implemented correctly. I think Gold and Black badges look better than Red and Black badges but once you Tier 1 something, you can't change the Badge to the colour of another Tier. Furthermore, there's a massive disparity in attaining Tier 1, for some gear it's incredibly easy to Tier 1 whilst others, you need to grind your life away and sell your soul to the devil.
As a semi-casual player, I literally don't care about the grind in 2042, I only care about the assignment esque unlocks that are reminiscent of the progression found in Battlefield 4. Seeing someone use a TV-Missile before I had unlocked it in Battlefield 3 was a massive "Whoa that's cool" moment than seeing someone with a Red and Black badge for the Tuk-Tuk. The same feeling of "That's crazy" applied to seeing the various unlocks that were possible for stuff, from range finding scopes to reactive armor. Seeing is believing but what's even better is getting to use it and own it.
Player level was also a major "Whoa" moment, now player level literally means nothing. Level 100 Colonel? What's that? Colonels don't exist in 2042. I vividly remember looking at the scoreboard in Battlefield 3 and trying my best to stay above the Colonels as a noob. That felt like progression. It felt like fun, it felt like I was getting better at the game.
Battlefield V also had some nice Vehicle progression but again, that game had tons of issues from no anti-cheat to balancing.
All in all, I just think that if the repair tool Tier 1 is going to be that high, it should have a skin or effect to go with it to justify it being that high. Also, I don't believe you understand just how dreadfully slow it is to reach Tier 2, I reached it without tracking it but when I saw the number for Tier 1, I can tell you right now, less than 1% of the people playing 2042 have it Tier 1'ed without abusing, the Tier 1 milestones just feel really random.
