@CDNAngryPenguinI'm of the same opinion. The only people enjoying this game right now are the infantry famers. The numerous pilots that totally ignore the objectives, and other aircraft, and fly across the open spaces (and let's face there are still lots of those) whilst holding left mouse. DICE just empowered them to do more of it with less fear of retaliation. This isn't BF anymore, it's Infantry Farming Simulator 2023...
Funny you say that. One of my conquest rounds yesterday was on that night 2042 map.
The enemy team actually had a proper role distribution which made at least a quarter of their infantry be on anti vehicle duty which meant that for every vehicle, the attacks were constant from multiple angles and directions.
They came for our squad vehicles with both direct attacks, guerilla warfare from hills, crates and cranes along with the occasional help from their own vehicles.
We had to actually give up on using vehicles because we were just a big target as a vehicle.
I was not even mad but proud of them for playing well.
Victory is supposed to go to the team which uses combined arms best (infy, vehicles and air).
The BF2042 vehicles are far from being the BF1 behemoths, they will be in trouble if they receive the right response to their threat.
Players need to remember that the infantry are still the vast majority and they can use this to their advantage instead of dueling vehicles.
Even the currently overpowered attack helicopters are far from hard to take down with infantry. Just yesterday 1 of my friends took down 2 of them with just the M5 recoiless.

Well duh, a quarter of the classes is engineer, and 75% of the classes have Anti vehicle gadgets.
Where is the big mystery in that? You can of course make a good point about how the engineer-adjacent specialists are mostly bad and boring, but that is another story.
Personally, I will still pick Lis by default when I know there will be enemy vehicles and if needed I will even use Crawford for repairs and the other launchers.

If I’m hunting air units, I feel I can’t play the game at the same time (= capture flags, defend points).
Air units are so fast that I have to scan the sky and be ready with the AA missile launcher.

The air units that an infantry care the most about (aka not jets) are generally hanging around long enough for one to retaliate after they strike in their area unless they were just passing by ASAP.
But honestly it is not necessarily your personal job to do all the capturing of flags, defending and swatting flies. If you end up feeling you are expected to do all these things yourself then it is a sign that you have a team that does not play right.
At this point it is not the fault of the game design or yourself but the fault of the sum of the choices of every player that makes up your (or the enemy) team. This has been the case for every Battlefield game that I have played. The only "fix" to that issue is a large enough network of players who know each other and play together (platoons etc). My enjoyment of BF games increased a lot since BFV and after not because they were better games (I mean they are worse) but because I found myself an active platoon which helped me feel less helpless at affecting the outcome of the round.
