@MADMAC50K you clearly do not understand the point here... It is an idiotic idea to have the mindset that one infantry player should always have 100% ability to destroy a vehicle without putting in any effort.
The LATV is almost always available and can be called in at a moments notice to lay a trap for unsuspecting air vehicles.
The lock-ons are stupid because they are easily countered and I can not even begin to count the times I have seen Wildcat drivers use lock-ons instead of shooting their main guns at a heli within 50m allowing them to get away. The underlying problem is still that vehicle vs vehicle gameplay is an absolute bore in this game. skill has nothing to do with it 9/10 times if one vehicle has APS and the other doesn't its just dead or if its the TOR tank sitting in base you are just gone. Try and remember that teamplay starts with you

@X-Sunslayer-X I agree the lock-ons are stupid and mostly useless. But why? Why even have them in game if they are easily countered? That sounds like a balance issue, which is kind of the point I'm making.....

@MADMAC50K
Because they work if they are used in the window that the aircraft is vulnerable to them.
Most pilots get too greedy and you can make them make mistakes they will regret.Even pointing the launcher at them and maintain a lock will help deteriorate their concentration make them retreat or use flares
One stinger that is stopped by flares means that another player, ground or air vehicle in your team can possibly have the chance to finish the job.
I got to remind everyone that this does not need to be an honorable duel. There are over 10 times as many soldiers as air vehicles per team

- VOLBANKER_PC2 years agoSeasoned Ace@TG_Maveric2022 I’ve noticed from playing Boris as vehicle hunter the past week that it rarely pays off to equip Anti-air missiles. There are more ground vehicles and they are easier to target than air units.
Usually with air units I lock on with an Anti-air missile, pilots shoots off flares and then flies out of range from me. And that’s all I got out of trying to hit him with my Anti-air missiles.
I know: Multiple people should do it, but other people have apparently also found out it doesn’t pay off to equip Anti-air missiles because it’s rare anyone other than me uses them.
Then vehicles can target enemy air units, as Sunslayer. says, but there’s not always a friendly vehicle nearby and if it is, there’s no guarantee the people in it will even consider targetting the air unit.
