I just ended a match. Went outside with my dog for a moment. Filled up my water filter, got a glass of water, and returned to my PC. I was still in the main menu with 12 seconds until match making starts. This process NEEDS to be sped up. Lack of persistent servers, no server browsers, lazy/slow matchmaking. Come on its 2022, this isn't ground breaking technology.
I just found out recently you can skip the post-match countdown by pressing the big teal Play button. I blame the unintuitive UI, as a new button / new text should show up such as "Play Now" or "Skip Wait".
I agree, all the unnecessary cinematics you have to cycle through at game start and in between matches is a time squandering pet-peeve of mine too.
And I'm with ya 100% on needing Server browser and persistent servers!

@PapaDrachyeah too much transitions and stuff + that delay at round start.
the round start delay is not in the old maps and the start therefor is already way quicker, wish the new maps would have this also
I'd like it to be a bit quicker too. The time it takes for the next match to load does feel a bit too slow - it's handy if you need to quickly grab something, but speeding it up would be a good move.

It really needs to be streamlined, especially when we have to go back to the lobby after every single round. ☹️
If you join a match already in play for your first match, which seems to happen to me every time I start playing, thanks MM, It will take you 10 mins into your second match to have as much playing time as queue time.
I spend 2-3 mins in queue at a minimum, then 5 minutes or less in the first match where the team I join is getting steamrolled. Then EOR sequence plus another 2-3 min queue. By the time the next round starts I will have been in menus for almost 10 minutes and played 5.
They need to just show the 4 top players all at once, then your squad, then the next map should load.
MM is the problem. Trying to send players into and out of queues every match involves way too much complexity when a Server Browser with persistent servers would solve the problem.
There is also a stats problem and severe desync that would be resolved as well. I will not buy another BF game without a Server Browser at launch.
