I think in the very early days I recall DICE dev's were much more active on the forums and they would step in with answers on forum threads.
Occasionally they would drop little titbits / teasers of exciting things they were working on.
I remember Devs visiting forums during the EAUK days of Bad Company and BF1943. Bazajaytee, Gordon Van Dyyke, and Demize99 to name a few.
Eventually EAUK was labeled a 'black hole of negativity' and got shutdown in favor of Battlelog.
Ahhh memories. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
