I think you describe the situation very well! Thank you. This is how most people feel on 128 player games.
The good news is that on last GEN versions playing the PS4 version on my PS5 feels normal.
So why is that? Is it because of the cross play between different systems? Is it the different tick rate of the servers between the versions? Can someone explain? I would like the last GEN versions performance on the new GEN version. Can we settle this somehow once and for all? Is it because of crossplay or other technical issues? How is it that the last GEN version plays so nicely? How can they not get the game to play the same on new gen consoles/PC ?
The most noticeable difference playing on the PlayStation 5 and loading up the PlayStation 4 version is that it takes the same amount of time to kill someone and to get killed. Same amount of bullets from the same kind of weapon. This is what we want ideally.
Gamers who only played the 128 player version have no idea how much better this game is on last gen versions.
@JOGAGATYA This is my exact same opinion. I just recently went back to the PS4 version on my PS5 and it is so much better. Feels way more like what I expect out of a battlefield game. The hit detection and aiming feels better. There are rarely any instadeaths or getting killed behind cover.
I'm not sure what's wrong with the next gen version but I probably won't go back until something changes. I never noticed a huge difference between 128 and 64 on PS5. No telling what the issue might be.

@HJ_SpacewarOn PS5 it does not matter if you play 128 or 64. You actually have to play the PS4 version on your PS5 to play properly. (No insta deaths and no kills behind cover etc)
PC players do not have access to this better version of battlefield. Sorry. Fact.
which begs the question: if it can be done on last gen, why it can not be done on new gen??????
- @JOGAGATYA Agreed. I really didn't expect such a difference but it just plays better. Its a shame because I would love to play with the better graphics etc of the Ps5 version.
Maybe it has something to do with crossplay between pc and consoles or maybe they just don't have it optimized very well for next gen/pc. TTK feels low some matches then insane other matches
- @JOGAGATYA Sorry but when i get instakilled in the weirdest way possible its 99% of the time a low level console players who does it with aimbots grenades and shady aim buff
- @Stew360 Honestly i have to say that i get insta killed by console players too on the PS5 version time to time. Today it was horrible. Switched to the PS4 version on my PS5 and i had the greatest time with friends. Looks like netcode/crossplay issue. I don't blame PC players now. I am convinced that the problem is in the netcode/servers or something. I have the luxury to play two different versions of the game and one of them is fair and superior for sure. Not a shadow of a doubt.
