And tbh, I don’t have a solution for this. 2042 marketed itself as a BF game, and then came out absolutely destroying core tenets of the BF franchise. Players like me hated this, and abandoned the game.
Obviously people like you preferred this system, but I honestly don’t see a way to make us both happy.
Classes with weapon restrictions are so core to what I think of when I think of BF, and the rock-paper-scissor balance the series is known for.
@MooselotteOk I guess this place is no better than reddit then. You know you can make your point that you prefer classes without such wild statements like:
“Now you know how EVERYONE felt at launch”. I guess they had classes in the closed and open betas when you spent your 100 dollar preorder then whipped them out for release ‘surprise!’ right?
Typical thinking you are adding weight to your own opinion by liberally adding pronouns to your opinion pieces like ‘everyone’, ‘we’ as though you categorically speak for the majority lol.
Also ‘tbh’ I am not looking for a solution from you, nor did I ask for one. I’m giving my feedback to the person who asked for it at the beginning of the thread and I already said the changes are what they are.
I am curious though if you were there for launch, then abandoned the game in disgust as you claim (along with EVERYONE else of course), because you can’t have a Battlefield without classes.. how come you are only showing up now in this forum with your very first post? Just how many hours in this horrible game do you have, hmm I wonder.
- 3 years ago@TheBatfink I mean, the “everyone” I’m referring to would be the large numbers that bought the game, then abandoned it.
Like, not trying to start a fight but I think you’re being a bit obtuse calling out that wording - if your family is on vacation, and someone says “everyone is going to the beach” would you be upset because not EVERYONE, all 8 billion people on earth are going to the beach?
2042 sold well the first week and reportedly slowed after that. The online playerbase also collapsed, and majority of reviews touched on the lack of classes. When I say “everyone else” these are the people I mean.
And I mean, I’m obviously here because the partial class system shows that Dice is trying to right the ship, so I’m here to make my voice heard. Earlier in 2042’s life it was so far removed from what I look for in a BF game that there was little point trying to talk it out - it felt like Dice had completely lost the thread of what makes a BF game.
Regarding betas - not sure about you but technical issues prevented me from being able to really play them, along with how short they were.
And sorry dawg, this being a forum, “ a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged” I was just engaging with you a bit to discuss.
Didn’t realize you were gonna be so salty about it.
