this wasn't a class update. this was a lock gadgets update. if weapons aren't locked they aren't classes

I agree if it were really a return to classes then they should have removed specialists' and their "abilities" and locked gadgets and weapons into traditional class roles.
Basically, rebuild the whole game from scratch, which would of course be idiotic and not really feasible or financially prudent.

the ship has sailed on generic soldiers. they will not give up the ability to sell skins. that means that specialists are here to stay in the franchise. once EA creates a revenue stream they will keep it at all costs (look at fifa)

@PsubondIt's a shame, and I agree with you. I always look with envy at the 'generic' soldiers in BF3.
The other option is to start with generic soldiers for each faction, and sell appearance modifiers e.g. face, hair, pieces of uniforms, etc.
