@PsubondIt's a shame, and I agree with you. I always look with envy at the 'generic' soldiers in BF3.
The other option is to start with generic soldiers for each faction, and sell appearance modifiers e.g. face, hair, pieces of uniforms, etc.

@Lancelot_du_Lac That’s exactly what they could do. Both sides have certain generic soldiers, and then faction specific skins to flog. Want a gold AK? That’s 1500 boins. Some will buy. I won’t, but I never do.
@Ironhead841, I agree with you that the it’s far too late to revert this whole game to traditional classes. While generic soldiers may not work anymore due to corporate greed, certainly faction specific soldiers and corresponding skins could form part of the next BF (if they bother to make one).
