Not a fan. The game felt better without because that was the original vision. The specialists had a 'class' but were free to use any of the available weapons and items, leading to greater flexibility to help the team in areas it's lacking. Now without the tools, teamplay suffers.
Life is anything but balanced. Yet Developers are obsessive compulsive in regards to making video games balanced to the point where they cancel the fun out of their games and then wonder why the player counts plummet and the revenue streams dry up.
Devs don't seem to realize that there are huge unintended consequences of massively changing an online video game over a year after launch.
I mostly played TDM and stopped playing two months ago before the massive "Class" change, as loadout limits TDM playability and cancels the fun factor. Plus after the third nerf to the NTW-50 caliber sniper rifle, I simply gave up playing BF 2042. Over 8000 kills with a very difficult 50-cal sniper rifle, the Devs triple time nerfed an already difficult gun to the point it was useless. Why? Nobody asked for it. Nobody used it much in game as it was rare to die from it. Yet nerf once, nerf twice, nerf three times for no apparent reason...
I wonder if a Dev would keep renting an apartment if the landlord remodeled their kitchen three times without any reason, yet they loved the original kitchen? Change for the sake of change is a game in itself, a tedious waste of time in which some of us are tired of playing...
