I really enjoy recent updates because some of the changes bring a glimpse of hope.
ENGINEER
Personally, I have a problem with the Engineer as a class. Boris, Mike, and Lis are equipped with LMG, which is a weapon primarily used for eradicating waves of enemies and suppressing them. So Engineer nowadays is much more oriented on Infantry Combat at a distance instead of the anti-vehicular domain. I believe that SMGs or short barrel Carbines and Shotguns would be much preferable to LMGs in this scenario honestly. To defend itself while necessary for the love of God and focus on tasks. I feel like in 64-player maps with 3 rockets or 3 C4s in equipment, ain`t simply enough to be effective against vehicles. 2 C4s planted on the tank should destroy it... but I think that 3 are required now. Engineers must have a wrench or a repair tool 100% guaranteed in their load-outs. Auto repairs in vehicles should only happen if a player decides to resign from an active defense like a smoke screen etc. I really liked the mechanic in BFV with repairs while staying in the vehicle. Repairs outside the vehicle should be more relevant.
Right now I see 35%-40% playing as Engineer which is quite high, this might be caused for 3 reasons:
one is a powerful and reliable LMG as a primary weapon,
and second is not enough rockets to deal with a tank,
third finally is high effectiveness when it comes to scoring some points with rockets actually.
So which one is it? Why there are so many ppl going for an Engineer role and not repairing much xD?
ASSAULT
I have nothing to add to this class. I think there could be even 5 C4s available or 2 Claymores in the equipment pool. 25-30% of players at first glance utilize this class.
SUPPORT
Well, I would rather have AMMO and MEDs as completely separate classes or sub-classes. Again Carbines, SMGs are fine for a medic to stay a little bit behind more powerful weapons. Support should have LMG either Assault or Battle Rifle. I feel like there are 15-25% of players utilizing this class. I feel like right now players have way too much ammo.
SNIPER
I feel like only 5-10% of players decide to be a Sniper during the match. Why? This might be a sucking balance or user or bad net code involved. So which one is it again?
I feel like Paik is a little nerfed a little bit too much now. 3D posture scans will always be too much.
Caspers scan pulse scan could indicate the general direction of the enemy.
Sniper Rifles could be much more effective at a distance of 15-25 meters and then the damage might drop off a little bit. The sniper class is slightly underpowered for now.
To make Snipers even better as a class, the general player movement could be lower by 5% except for Tactical Sprint... and tactical sprints could only last 15 seconds, not all the time. Players should utilize Tactical Sprint in a smart way to bring some skill bar into a game. I think that player movement is still too high and sometimes it`s hard to hit a moving target. Sniper Rifles, DMRs, and Battle Rifles could be fine for this class. Sniping is a little bit disappointing.
Overall I`m happy to see some changes. Cheers.
