  • Have you seen the maps they made? I would rather play 2042 on battlefield 1 maps than have to see whatever they would consider a "good urban map". Pretty sure stranded was advertised as featuring great close quaters combat and basically just one container room.

  • It's a bit of a shame as I'd really like there to be an urban map. I guess there's a chance we'll get one in the future.

  • @I_DYN4MO_I Kaleidoscope not urban enough for you? Are you thinking like the close quarters maps in BF3 expansion? The game could use some low or no vehicle, tight in run and gun kind of maps. Would have liked to see GunMaster brought back, but not enough guns to do that. The attempt made in Portal was pretty dismal.

@ATFGunr "Kaleidoscope not urban enough for you?"

    Bruh😄

Come on man. It's noting more than a city themed wide open playground like the rest of them. We can go on the ground floor of 3 sky scrapers. That's it. The closest thing to how an actual urban map should play is Arica Harbour and that's portal so it doesn't count.

I've just been watching some video's of that other game's "Ground War" and my god, it's beautiful. Now that is how you do urban maps! Plenty of cover, players can go in every building, fully compartmentalised so vehicles and infantry can coexist, detail and assets everywhere, angles and lanes all over the place, graffiti, litter, cars abandoned in the streets, war torn feel. I can go on and on. Barring Arica, this game doesn't have any of that.

The flooded urban area in this video should have been in the game. It looks hella cool -

@I_DYN4MO_I I’m glad you saw the humour. Realistically we’re never going to get certain types of maps out of BF, 3 having the best close quarters urban environment of the series. Having a better laid out metro would be cool. It’s nothing we’ll see in 2042 though. They’re done. Every season we get now was made months ago, we’ll get a few tweaks, a few bug fixes, enough to be able to (barely) claim it’s a live service game, then after season 4 comes out it’s done. They’ll abandon it as quick as they did V. I’m with ya though, some urban maps would be cool and their are better maps being made by the competition right now.

Yeah sadly I have to agree with you, I also find it very hard to have any optimism going forward, ☹️
