Since I got all 2042 AR to red tier Im trying to do same for vault ARs.
I've been a big fan of 416 back in BF3 and BF4 so decided to start with it.
I feel like its underperforming compared to 2042 ARs (any)
Is it just me or everyone feels so? Or probably its intentionally worse? M16A3 is terrible too. The only somehow okay vault gun is MG
If DICE added them for fun and not for actual use I accept that and will keep playing with 2042 meta weaps
I actually seem to be getting on really well with the M416, M16A3, and ACR-W recently. They might still be at a disadvantage to some of the AOW ARs, but they feel quite decent to me when I'm playing with them anyway.

The M16A3 is my favorite. Thing keeps up with the AOW weapons so well.
@GrizzGolfI havent figured out yet how to make M16A3 to kill but my 416 expierence completely depends on server quality. Some rounds I manage to shoot just fine and my k/d is normal. Some rounds its 6-20 and its usually on severs with HIGH (20 ms) TN latency. Ones my TN goes to 12-13 HK416 works just fine. Also its more like CQB weapon, at least feels so. MTAR is also fine. Got 800+ kills with 416 already and planning to red tier it by weekend
edit: biggest thing I learned is that any type of silencer kills perfomance for 416. Raw barrel or compensator works fine. Hipfiring with angle grip is also an option here

I have had the same issue with the 416 with the silencer. I had to take it off as much as I hated to do it. But it worked better for me most of the time
The 416 feels underwhelming because it is objectively worse than most guns. Do not go off the stats displayed in game, as they are incorrect and misleading. The actual stats of all the guns from the game files are proof of this. The 416 is a 5 btk out to 75 meters and then jumps to a 6. Its TTK is 312ms which is meh at best. It will feel like * compared to the other wpns that have a 4 btk with much faster TTK. Plus, the addition of spread just amplifies the feeling of underperformance with all the 5 btk weapons.
