We have 128 players and at least 100 are infantry. It is an infantry-based game with vehicles on top.
The vehicles are way to dominant in 2042. This is partly due to the maps being really bad (no cover) and partly because some of the vehicles are too mobile and have overpowered weapons (mostly the nightbird and the bolte).
Finally, working audio would help a lot. Too often you get killed by "silent" vehicles. If infantry could hear the vehicles they could at least try to take cover (if the map has any).
Combined warfare is special for BF, but at the moment vehicles are more or less 'random-death-generators', which kills the fun of playing infantry

@cso7777Vehicles are fine on 64 player and generally don't last long if they don't retreat using a tiny bit of coordination among team players.
I would imagine with twice as many infantry running around in 128 player, most vehicles are easily taken care of apart from the exceptions to the rule who know how to survive in top tier vehicles for long periods.

I think this is one of the difficult things to address. On multiple maps, there is literally nowhere to hide against a decent player in a nightbird besides an elevator. Both helis and jets can swoop into a zone, pop flares, mince a group of players and then disappear back into the sky or behind an inaccessible building without anyone ever getting a chance to lock. This means your best bet is either a lucky recoilless or hoping you've got someone who is good at air support on your team (particularly difficult or impossible on some breakthrough rounds).
With tanks, spawning in one at the beginning of a round is frankly suicide. Two jets fly in with AT and you're toast before ever firing off a single shot.
The only chance you really have to defend yourself against a strong air team is a Condor / Super Hind. But this only works if those in said vehicle actually work as a team, you need a pilot who knows what they are doing, and gunners who know what to target and when. The ceiling needs to be lowered to stop people camping at it.

@techb00merJets and air in general wouldn’t be a problem if the AA Tank would survive 3-5 C5 drones.
When my friends where still playing this game we operated a wildcat where the spotter was the reapair guy and the third seat had 60mm flak unlocked.
Air got completely destroyed since the 60mm flak deals damage anyway if it explodes near the vehicle or deals devestating damage if you land a direct hit, if I recall correctly it onehit kills Jets and severe damages them if it explodes near the jet.
That + the dual 30mm gun completely wrecks any Airvehicle.
But like I said before… not possible currently to operate successfully since it’s mostly #1 target next to the MAV vehicle by C5 drone idiots.- Lancelot_du_Lac4 years agoSeasoned Ace
A couple of infantry-only maps would provide some relief.
