I use the VOIP function on PS5.
Unfortunately I had to go into the settings to activate it as the default setting is for it to be disabled.
I now send an EA friend request to anyone else I find using VOIP and have started to play more often with like-minded strategic and team/squad oriented players.
It does make a big difference to how much more fun you get out of the game.
Pretty sure that there are a lot of players taking into a microphone on console (without having changed their settings to turn it on) who are wondering why nobody reacts or responds to their speech.

I've used it when playing with one of the volunteers here and it was quite nice - it made us a bit more effective as well.
Not so keen to use it with randoms but not totally averse to it either. After all I met a lot of my friends that way, after wading through the usual munching/screeching/shouting people.
