I haven't used it for ages. The last time I heard someone it was in a language I didn't understand shouting at someone else(a kid) there end.
I was just another feature that DICE didn't need to add which made them take time away from actual giving us more content quicker. Most of the people that were crying for VOIP aren't even playing the game.

Dude, I love your comments. Straight to the point. I wish they would stop kowtowing to the whiners that spend more time crying online than they do actually even playing the game. The people that sit online all day and cry are NOT the actual people playing the game.

I play in Europe and VOIP has never been used in any BF-game I have played.
In Europe we speak many different languages and using VOIP makes no sense, at least not when playing with randoms.
Who ever asked for it is a mystery to me, what region of the world (besides perhaps the US), have players that all speak the same language?

Well, when using VOIP we could still all use English (OK, maybe all of us except the French 😉 ).
But without some required features it is basically useless to use VOIP:
It first has to be turned on manually
Then it reverts back to Party chat all the time so you have to configure it to Squad chat
Then Squad chat does not help if you want to talk to the guy in the tank that you want to pick you up or to not drive around like crazy because you want to repair her.
And then for Squad chat or Party chat you are most likely using Discord or TeamSpeak anyway, so why bother with the in-game VOIP.
What would be nice would be to have proximity chat that you can talk to eveyone close to your current location. Without having that, there is not much benefit for VOIP AFAIC.

If you are happy/content with the game you have very low standards. Myself, my standards for a battlefield game are relatively high. 2042 certainly is not up to my standard. I have plenty of complaints about the game, VOIP being missing was one of many as it has been a STANDARD feature to the franchise for 10+ years. Sounds like you are making excuses.
