We asked for VOIP - why isn't anyone using it?

Small sample size, I know, but I haven't been able to find anyone (in Oceania) using VOIP. This forum made such a big deal about it, so why don't players use it? The discussion about the EA survey ...

    @S1n31ra Could also mean that forum contributors don't necessarily represent the majority player base!

@Lancelot_du_Lac nobody actually cared to talk with randoms. people who talk with friends use discord or psn/xbox live party chat

It was always just a reddit dunking point of something that they felt the game should have so throwing it out there as some big missing feature was an easy way to hate on the game.

    @SpudBug how do you think people MADE THOSE FRIENDS? Most of my friends on my friend list(90%) have a mic, used it on VOIP and we friended each other. You don't just get into a party chat and wait for people to magically become friends with you. I've never used discord in my life, that would mainly be PC players...not console.

      @foff667 They make those friends in social media circles and forums. The battlefield discord has voice channels to play with others and its way better than just hoping randoms want to talk or are even going to do anything but shout nonsense.

        @SpudBug PC is just different. Console users don't go onto their PC to make friends to play on console. We go onto our console to make friends on our console. I know, weird concept to grasp but grasp it.

    @SpudBug Everyone i talk to on PS4 LOVES to talk to RANDOMS. Me too. If you play solo(no friends) you still want to communicate. I want to tell my squadmate driving by on Hourglass’s open to please stop and pick me up. Or pls give me ammo or i want to say “ tank driver, i am going to hop out and fix the tank’ or tell the heli driver ‘ rotate to the right so i can shoot those 5 people on the roof’ etc. How is it possible to play this game without VOIP with strangers? Only if you play solo, run and gun, look at scoreboard all the time. Which is ok too. But not for me.

      @JOGAGATYA that's fair if you have squad mate driving. There is no transport voip IIRC.

        I don’t know about you guys but there is something helpful to say every 15 seconds. VOIP is absolutely essential once you get over social awkwardness. ( Hazard zone is totally useless without VOIP)  I used to be a shy person when younger. The world is a better place if we communicate and spread positivity. I am much happier person now. Try it. It can be addictive lol
