Its simple to counter helis and if people dont want to its their issue, not the devs having to cater to nitwits who cant be bothered to soflam or get a stinger out then swap back to another kit at a supply crate
It's very difficult for a single player to take out a helicopter. It takes a bit of teamwork. Admittedly, its basic stuff for any half decent team, but its still team work.
Prior to 0.4 there was no voip, no way in game to coordinate things. Furthermore, as Dice have clearly made the decision to push organized players away in favor of solo play, many groups of organized players have left.
You're quite correct inasmuch as taking out a helicopter is relatively straight forward, but dead wrong when you try to absolve Dice devs of any responsibility for the issue. If they hadn't chosen to drive teams away, there wouldn't be much of an issue.
Unless youre playing hardcore even a jeep takes two rockets to destroy.

@TAW_RinkoThis is how vehicles have been in every battlefield game, every vehicle is like that and always has been.

Vehicles require teamwork to counter, or should do.
Which is why its such a pity that Dice chose to remove, so thoroughly, any mechanism that enabled teamwork from 2042s release.
- 4 years ago@TAW_Rinko Yup, thats the thing - I think vehicles and their numbers were fine prior to this patch.
If people didn't want to counter them thats on them, the biggest issue with the game was lack of VOIP and incentives for squad based activity. Remember when there used to be squad bonuses?- 4 years ago
I remember when Dice wanted squads to play their game, and had tools in their games to allow people to organize towards a common objective.

I think it's interesting to note how many completely valid criticisms can be made of 2042 that organized play would have negated.
Too much open ground to cover on a map? Oh well, its good we already organized who's driving what, with who in it, where.
Opposing air being a pain? Convert an AT squad to an AA squad, you've already had those squads practice both roles.
The lack of VOIP and squad based bonuses were symptoms of Dices disregard for people playing together in large groups of their friends.
