The Nightbirds were used as attack helicopters and more than deserve their moving to the attack aircraft category.
At least the Condor/Hind can aid the team to spawn closer to where they need to.
I am less worried about the condors and hinds now because both sides will have them more often which will result in them canceling out each other.
Even with just SOFLAM and m5 launchers, a cheecky Condor/hind will have a bad time if the other team takes the threat seriously.
About the jets... I am not sure but I believe that the increased presence Condors/hinds will help put more pressure to the jets between the miniguns and the cannons. Or at the very least the jets will be a lot more busy with large flying transports in the sky instead of tiny nightbirds that hurt the eyes to look for bellow
You cannot please everyone but I think that this change is good overall.
The MAV needs to move over to the transports though
- Anobix4 years agoSeasoned Ace@UP_Hawxxeye 100% on the MAV moving to transport section. Anything that can be spawned on by the whole team should be in that section. And honestly, if the nightbird was able to be spawned on [during its time in the transport section] I think it would have been better deserved too.
- ElliotLH4 years agoHero+@UP_Hawxxeye @Anobix The MAV is going to be moved. Most likely it'll be in the next update as it was intended for the recent one originally. The Bolte is also being moved to the Attack category.

@ElliotLH Good idea on the bolte.
Now what about the effect of moving the nightbird to attack and the impact on other aerial vehicle presence and balancing? - Anobix4 years agoSeasoned Ace@ElliotLH Thanks, I don't spend much time on twitter to follow those conversations. Good to hear that it will be done in a 'future update'

The hit reg and lag compensation in this trash is absolutely comedy gold!
- 4 years ago@ElliotLH you would think that'd be a fairly easy move. they must have some serious spaghetti code
- Anobix4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond I would think so too, my only excuse is changing one thing at a time, looking at metrics and seeing how things play out and then making more changes.
Granted, most of these things would be perfect for public test realm/server things, but let's not have too brutal of expectations to offer the public/fans to help with feedback 🙂

@UP_Hawxxeye I mean they can still spawn players and have people using them for that at times, consolidating them into attack along with slower attack spawn is just bottlenecking people who want to play other vehicles.
The same counters to hind/condors work for nightbirds, they're not hard to see or kill and can be deterred far away from their effective range.
