We're glad to hear you're having a great time with our past Battlefield titles. It's always a win that fans are able to still enjoy the previous versions to-date.
The team is heavily focused on 2042 right now so if you want an immediate answer to your question on cross-play for BFV, that won't likely happen anytime soon.
Just a heads up friendly warning (to all). If there is any feedback you want to provide the team in this post about what you want to improve 2042 drop it in here, perhaps what you really liked about the previous titles that you want incorporated into the latest version. Any personal attacks may result in the forum post being closed down.
I've also gone back to BFV for now, it's much smoother than 2042, the graphics look better imo, gun play is super sharp and crispy, vehicle mechanics are much better, key binds actually work, no SBMM, smaller headshot hit boxes, manual leaning is there as is server browser, squad creation tools, text chat to enemy, scoreboard, VoIP etc etc etc
So overall for me BFV is a much better experience and a more enjoyable game. Currently it's the sweet spot of BF games for me because it has awesome graphics and the traditional BF format, BF4 and previous titles are looking a bit dated now imo.
Oh and 2042 seems to be dishing out false bans randomly to people which is a tad worrying because a lot of them are reporting that they are getting zero help from EA support.which is not something I have the time to be dealing with should it happen to me.
FWIW I'm playing on an 11900k/3090/32GB RAM/M.2 SSD's PC, all other BF games run super smooth but 2042 feels clunky.

I see that you've responded there. Continue to add to that post and this one. I don't foresee any immediate changes to the class system. DICE came out with a new system this year. I know where a lot of Battlefield vets are coming from where certain classes feel special because they can only use specific weapons and gadgets. The team took a different direction by placing that on specialists abilities while not restricting the weapons and gadgets in general. Engineers had the rockets over the years and one thing I see in some of the Portal servers I play are people upset in chat because nobody is switching to Engineer class take out the vehicles. Opening up weapons for other classes helps mitigate some of that issue.
@EA_BlueberryWhat about freedom of choice in character customization?
Genders colors faces etc.? Will I be able to play as a strong dozer woman?

If my memory serves me right the team is planning to release more specialists in the future. It is unclear whether there are plans to add customization to each individual specialist though, but if that is something you'd like to see we'll monitor requests for that on the forums and send it their way. If you're able to put together a post with specifics that can help get a conversation started.
