Clearly this is aimed at the COD crowd, not Fortnite. COD does these type of commercials all the time.

Jeep stuff.
Riding on Tuk Tuks.
Dropping Tonks on people.
Heli roadkill.
It's a CGI BFF's episode for crying out loud! Cheesy yes, but fun times never the less.

It's not intended for vets spending a lot of time on the official forums before game launch.
It's to try and capture some kids going from Fortnite to a more mature game.
I want this game to thrive for a long time, so I'm all in for letting new players on board the battlefield boat.
That's my take on it anyway.

Probably. Really dont get it, why they are developing war games / shooters for 12 year old Kids. Should be forbidden, but hey, war is fun except you are part of it.

I quite enjoyed the trailer as I liked the humour.
- 4 years ago@ChugKendall I'm a Battlefield vet since BF2. And no I don't see an issue here. Are we forgetting the BF4 trailers with guys driving ATVs off the skyscraper on Siege into Helicopters? Or the BF3 trailer with a tank driving over an RC car? lol
I think you guys are reaching on this one. And I could care less who a trailer is "aimed at". My only concern is gameplay. Trailers are media hype nonsense, as we've painfully seen with past DICE titles like Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 and BFV.- 4 years ago@ArchAngeL-PCX And you don't see a pattern, and how things have changed along with it?
@ChugKendall Depends on what pattern you mean. Battlefield began chasing COD with Bad Company 2 and BF3. BF2 did have more infantry and CQC focused gameplay with the Special Forces expansion, and BF2142 had maps like Camp Gibraltar and Berlin clearly focused on infantry. But it's been more of a focus since Bad Company. They veered off after BF4, but BF2042 seems to have them back on that track. And COD has the Specialists concept too.
Westie has a great video: Battlefield 2042 Final Thoughts before launch... - YouTube
He breaks down the history of Battlefield games and where it branches off. He sees BF2042 as putting us back on the main branch. Sort of like:
BF1942 -> BF Vietnam -> BF2 -> BF2142 -----> BF3 -> BF4 --------------------> BF2042
\ \ \
Bad Co 1&2 BF Hardline BF1 -> BFV
Basically, he looks at BF2042 as a direct sequel to BF4, not BFV, with BF1 and BFV being on their own branch off the main line with a very different focus and style.
