Worst in the series.
Being able to spawn vehicles in wherever you are on the map without cost or effort to obtain them removes a massive chunk of objective based gameplay. Where you would have fought over particular objectives to give your team an extra tank or artillery or being able to grab some light transport after successfully taking over an objective to continue your momentum to the next objective. There is now no relevance to what objective you decide to fight over, no value to any ground your team holds. You can just get a vehicle anywhere at any time.
Then there's the terrible categorisation. Jeeps and light armour sharing the same spawn pool. Having to choose between APC, MBT and AA, all very different class of vehicles all put under heavy armour. Jets and Attack helicopter being in the same category. Littlebird being in the transport category despite the team not being able to spawn on them and due to it's obscene offensive capabilities, overshadows the actual transport aircraft that actually benefits the team by providing a mobile spawn point.
Whole vehicle spawn system could do with a complete rework.

I thought I would hate it and not get to grab a tank as much as previous games but that's not been the case at all and I really like calling in a tank when I'm deep in enemy territory and can then make a significant difference to the situation.
Having a flag spawn an extra top tier vehicle is a good concept however it can also lead to a winning team gaining even more of an advantage.
I also really like the fact that you can choose what vehicle you want which they introduced in BF1.
I can see the argument for moving nightbirds and boltes into the offensive vehicle categories.

I think calling in a tank that lands on top of a 100 story building is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in a BF game....I mean really!?!?!? Vehicle's should only be obtained at your home base or possibly at a captured Flag that is controlled for a set period of time.
- 4 years ago@AzoreanAssassin You could say the same thing about someone jumping off a small box and being able to glide 1000 yards, but here we are. At least they had the thought to make the vehicles air dropped.
While I do miss the old system of having your platforms at your main base and capture points, lets be honest, and I am speaking about conquest here, what impact is a tank in it's current state really making if it's called up on that building. Stupid? Yes. Minimal impact, also yes.- 4 years ago@Anti-Tank-Killer Depends on the game mode. Conquest? Yeah it has minimal impact but on Breakthrough it can be tough trying to take out a tank on a roof top lol. I'm ok with calling in vehicles but they have to be in certain spots on the field.

You have to admit, it was a sight to see before 3.2? (or was it 3.1?) when breakthrough maps still had objectives on top of buildings, you take a lift up only to be greeted by multiple tanks, wildcats, hovercrafts all aimed at your tiny little elevator door. I would just laugh as everyone in the elevator with me was turned into a fine red mist.
Stupid, yes. Funny, yes.
Thankful they removed objectives on top of buildings, also yes.
