I need to try it again but it seems that the A2G missiles now target drones. Don't think they did pre-update.

@ElliotLH could be a way to protect wildcat from AGM (for one pass anyway and only if it isn't moving...but let's face it the wildcat is always camping). just have the drone hover over your tank so the jet locks onto that first (might not work but seems plausible )
