What do the numbers from the console PerfOverlay.DrawFPS command mean?

As background: In BF1 with Ultra settings at 4K I get 90-100 FPS. In BF2042 with medium settings and DLSS on Performance I get 30-60 FPS. Generally, though, the GPU FPS shown by the PerfOverlay.Draw...

In case anyone is interested, I got the new nvidia drivers today. No appreciable difference.

I still think the problem is to do with bad CPU utilisation and my CPU FPS score is still fluctuating wildly between about 30 and 70.

It has even dropped a few times very low and once froze for a couple of seconds.

Maybe I'll try the 64 (or less) players modes to see if it's to do with 128 players...
