All the people who make decisions about the game need to get back to actually playing the game, all of it
@UP_HawxxeyeI think this is probably the root cause of many issues. And I don't think it's entirely new, as I've heard some gamedevs in the past didn't play their games much either, but I've now seen some instances where the devs end up playing their own games and it's very enlightening for everyone involved.
As an example, apparently one of the Dead by Daylight devs (asymmetric horror PvP game) had been saying that flashlights were fine. He would then stream (alongside others) a random match, all the enemy players would have flashlights and he'd be completely unable to do anything about it, and apparently after that stream flashlights would get nerfed.
I have a feeling if the same happened with a 2042 dev trying to deal with an attack helicopter, attack helicopters would very quickly eat a nerf.
Dev in this context being *anyone* working on the game, from QA that probably got paid below minimum wage then fired, to the coders that probably shouldn't spend too long not-coding.

Someone did that to a DICE employee back in BF3 to point out the problem of the overly bright flashlights there. After a while the receiving party replied that he gets it.
I want to cope that the reason that modern flashlights and lasers are not outshining the sun is related to that video.

And back then, they were decently active with the balance, it's when the attack helicopters ate the initial nerf that made them so useless they'd then need a decent buff. But after a few months...

As someone who lives in a smaller market (Oceania), I hope that DICE do something about the number of players needed to start a game - maybe lower it in smaller markets.
I can't remember the last time I was able to play a game mode, other than Conquest, during peak times. Even then...
I end up on Portal servers because I cannot find an active game, when I want to play.
Support smaller markets, or don't launch it there.
