Batlefield is at its core a COMBINE ARMS game with base Conquest type mode or BF2142 " titan " conquest type mode .. This is BF at its core .
Nowaday because DICE made lots of questionable type of trials trough battlefield history like " GOld rush " " TDM " "Capture the flag " etc.. wich derived from the base formula of " Infantry vs ground vs air " combines arms .. Many peoples now feel entittle that Battlefield should be a infantry base game or should limit vehicles and players count to transform battlefield it what it was not ...
Despite its short comming and flaws .. BF2042 at its core is more a battlefield game AKA " combine arms games " than BF3 or BF4 were on many level ... The scale and the vehicles availability makes it a true BF game ... Sure some maps have design flaws here and there that should be adjusted . Its all about balance .. Vehicles are easy to deal with and destroy with hacking EMP , disabling parts etc.. as infantry ... AIR are threatned all the times by others air , lock on , and ground vehicles and peoples who pretend air is easy 99% of them dont last 2 seconds in the air ..

A combine arms game at its core
A conquest base game at its core
Most complaints about BF2042 is that BF isnt enough COD like not enough infantry focused and to much " COmbine arms " wich goes against what BF is at its core so these complaints are not fair to this franchise ..
@Stew360 There is more depth to Battlefield then simply a combined arms combat
- @fragnstein Each battlefield games had different itteration on all levels the only common theme across all BF games was its core game mode Conquest and its combines arms gameplay . Its the only popularized game that was like this and its Core Battlefiel
Conquest , Combine arms thats battlefield .. The rest is just " add on "@Stew360There is a difference between combined arms and maps that don't account for a baked in vehicle spam loop. Just because there's vehicles on a map not properly play tested doesn't make it a combined arms experience.
