What is the AM40 supposed to be?

Clip capacity makes it even worse
Data miner found out that they messed it up the gun is using smg damage stats aswell as ingame its registered as a smg but today on twitter they confirmed it launched in a broken state that will be fixed in a update.
Basically again here is a new gun oh we forgot the put proper damage on it well you know us a indie dev crew well we will fix that in September? October?
4 development team entire need for speed franchise shelved for this "game"

Not mentioned there but the mag size basic should be 30 but again its there first game give them a few months to fix it like the ac 42 those mags were broken for 6 months.
So in other words I should stop using it until they fix it.

Yes i got super pissed off yesterday with small mags poor damage going negative kdr trying to get the mags well every mag has way lower ammo than it says basically 10-20rounds less. The damage at most is 28 point blank into the head.
Throw it away till they fix there new gun in a fps game.

@Straatford87 if you can speak on this, was the initial purpose of the AM40 to be a new SMG but last second (or someone that had little to do with the design of it wanted this change) made the change for this to be an AR causing some last second adjustments to make it "perform" like an AR? Damage for headshots is set at 1.25 (same as SMG) its recoils is comparable to the AK-24 (might have been something to last second change due to needing to balance it as an AR?) and the damage model is very similar to SMG's without any additional additives to make it seem like an AR (it very much seems like the intended purpose of this rifle was to be a new SMG rather than AR)? Even the Icon for the Mastery is in the same style of SMG's (the background shape for the AM40 is a square same as all the rest of the SMG's, all of the AR's use a hexagon for the shape)
- @DaddyWarBukx 😁 hey I'm glad someone else noticed those shapes in the emblems and it made me wonder. ∆ this makes perfect sense and this backs up your claim. I was hoping this would be THE carbine of 2042. I miss my ACWR from bf4 I thought the AM40 might fill that spot
