@CantGetRight Because we love Battlefield and we want to fight for the Battlefield experience we love because we know that 2042 can be a fun and proper Battlefield if DICE course corrects like they did with BF5's Pacific expansion. My question is if you want Battlefield to be something other than Battlefield why not just play those other non-Battlefield games and leave Battlefield to those who love it?
I've played every Battlefield title and I've never seen the community in this state - not even in BF5 which was objectively the low point of the series for community sentiment. It was apparent in the recent EA earnings call that 2042 has failed and they are looking to do something so it's not just a few malcontents on the forum saying 2042 needs big changes, it's the majority of the player base. If you're enjoying 2042 that's great, but it's apparent that both the core player base and the EA finance department is not.
@ragnarok013 Thing is this is a BF game through and through. You have large-scale maps, large-scale fights, vehicular combat, infantry combat. infantry vs vehicles. It's the same thing you had in every BF ever produced. The only difference is they added specialists on top of classes and opened up the weapons. In fact I get BF2 vibes from this game that the others didnt have.

I still play BF2 a few times per year on Game Ranger and I get zero BF2 vibes - I get some BF4 vibes from the maps though. The entire experience couldn't be less Battlefield for me and my group of friends, it feels like Apex with tanks and we all loath Apex.

Game Ranger acts like GameSpy used to for a large number of obsolete games, normally I can't find a full 64 man server in BF2 but I'll find one that is 1/3 to 1/2 full.
