@Trokey66 I said mostly, because most of their faces were covered up. Their faces were also so generic, there was no way to tie a character to it.
You already answered your own question. The difference is Falck is a strong written character, with a background and specific voice lines. Hearing and seeing the same thing on both teams is an issue. She's Russian, but works on both teams.
I've gotten slightly better at it, but in my 85 hours, it's happened often, Not so much from a distance, but up close there have been many instances where I was confused if it was an enemy or teammate. Only way to know is by playing laser tag and looking to see what color glow stick they have.
How much better would it be if Sundance was faction specific, so I don't have to look at a damn glowstick. I would see, hear, and acknowledge that Sundance = specific team.

@Albake21zWhat difference does this 'strong written character with background' make? Whilst I disagree, I can understand the voice line bit but then I assume every sound I hear is enemy generated until proven otherwise.
If you hear something and the isn't a blue dot on the mini map, it's an enemy.....
As to visuals, I can safely say that once they fixed the blue/green dot over friendlies heads, I have never had an issue with identifying enemies. Indeed, before the fix, the issue was shooting at friendlies by mistake.

I'll never understand how someone actually thought taking 10 distinct heroes and stretching those across 128 players on both sides was a smart idea. It's clone wars, and it takes away from what made BF what it was.
Real soldiers do not look or act like narcissistic heroes. They all look exactly the same other than the equipment they have on them. So why in BF where the game is an arcade war sim, would it be any different?
BF1 and BFV at least started getting this correct. It allowed you to customize your character to give your own identity, while still remaining rather anonymous and as just cogs withing the machine. Like how real platoons are in real war.
That's why this all bothers me. It takes away any seriousness the franchise had. BF always was an arcade shooter in gameplay, while presenting itself with the design of a milsim. That is no longer the case in BF2042.
Also, just to be clear here for everyone, I'm not trying to say anyone here is right or wrong. Or that anyone can or cannot like this game. We're all BF fans here and we all just want what's best for this game. I like to think we're all still apart of the same community even with our differences.
