What is the purpose of the assault rifle?
Does anyone know what exactly is the purpose of an assault rifle in BF 2042? Far to mid range , LMG wins. Mid range to close, SMG wins. Far, Mid, Close, prone, behind rock, behind tree, inside tor...

@GosBiker All this won't last till the end of the year. I HOPE.
- ARs going to get buffed mid/long range
- LMGs are going to get nerfed mid/close range
- SMGs are going to get nerfed to the ground compared to what we have now on mid and long range.
- sniper rifles are only valid if you are a really skillful shooter and get the heads, body shots don't kill with one bullet which means you're likely dead during the exchange. Until lvl 50 and the last sniper rifle unlock, you're better off with SVK.
I'm using SVK marksman rifle and with high power rounds it is really strong, I wonder if not too strong.
