Although for now it looks like Battlefield 2042 will be one of the better titles in Battlefield series, what do you think is still preventing you from instant pre-ordering this game?
For me it is lack of some kind of offline mode.
BFV air was probably the worst in the entire BF series. Never have so many changes been made and still not got it right. Air vs air and air vs ground were awful.
I may well be worried about whether they have the knowledge and talent to correct all the mistakes they made in BFV
It seemed more like then devs knew more about infantry plan than vehicle play and especially nothing about air play.

I gave the game all the time it needed. There are still unaddressed issues, including one that existed since the first month of the game
Point is, you still played it and if you played for 900+ hours you were getting something out of it even without the fixes. Agreed, there are bound to be some bumps in the road, but tbh, I pre-ordered because I know I'm going to play no-matter what. Been doing it from BF2 - it's become part of what I do. (my missus is never going to let be back into the house on a Friday night anyways)
The huge number of cheats in BFV and DICE/EA's unwillingness to either deal nor even acknowledge the issue.
Right now 80% of a nights gaming (a few hours at the most) will see one obvious rage cheater.
It is a complete farce,
One cheater recently seemed familiar. Googled his name and sure enough there are MULTIPLE YouTube videos of him cheating and who knows how many reports. Player active on and off since LAST YEAR.
How can this possibly be allowed.
We paid for a game with a functioning anti-cheat that we were clearly never provided.
Until DICE/EA face this issue their game is dead to many.
I was hesitating because of the specialists. But as soon as I saw Portal and the ability to configure classes traditionally I pre-ordered.

the only reason I ended up playing so much is because I got in a friendly platoon that made me feel compelled to keep playing to keep in touch + this platoon being a good source of socialization at the evenings during the lockdowns where I was in a bad psychological state and needed someone to talk to.
If not for the platoons my playtime in BF5 would had been comparable to my playtime in hardline (which I ditched quite fast).
I still have some single player games in my library waiting to be played.
That it will be a bug ridden clown fiesta for few months after launch, like bf 3 4 1 and 5 were, so might as well get it on sale later on.
@Terofishy I picked the basic one but only last night, not sure if I care too much about the hype these days to get in early.
PunkBuster banned my fav bf3 user account for apparent cheating but WTF i never cheated. Their attitude was they all say that. So I have had a big *snip* You chip on my shoulder with EA Games ever since.

At the moment, is the lack of Gyro-Aiming. We still don't know if it will exist or not, but if Gyro-Aiming is confirmed before the release date, I will Pre-Order instantly.
For me, personally I'd like to know more info about the game. I wish there were more official gameplay, some portal information and maybe more videos about the web interface tool.
Revealing more things on portal will basically convince me to pre order.
