Personally I hope that EA will go in hard, all the way!
Better that approach than starting out weak and letting the cheats destroying the brand and reputation or what is left of it. This is the new flagship game in the BF franchise. Lets make sure it starts strong on AC and stays that way!

Scroll a bit down and you will see the list of previous games they have been involved in. We can then discuss how success they turned out to be. But as @SpoolaZ indicates, its all depending on the game company's decision on how hard the parameters they go for. Personally I am definitely happy with this direction we go for with BF2042!

New AC (hope it works) and Portal with Admin controlled servers, which seem to work fairly well as rental servers (not as good as in the past, but close), it actually looks quite good imo.
Will be even better if they also add spectate mode.
