What was the final straw that made you not like 2042?
For me, it was lack of content and the specialist system.

@Machetero0519 I have 399 hours played and today I log in to see some * decided to take 64 player conquest away. Not only to the maps flow better objective to objective but they just perform better in a game that is not yet optimized enough for really smooth 128 player maps. Sigh.. WTF!

It wasn't taken away... it was renamed to Exodus Conquest. It's the same but they added BF3+BC2 portal maps to the "rotation"
