only super-new guns or stuff ?
I read about AK-19, and its just the AK-12 gone from 5,45x39 to 5,56x45.
I personally would like stuff like AK-15 in M43 cartridge
in bf 4 you had CZ Bren 1 which IRL didnt prove very successful, but bren 2 went for smaller size and aluminium instead of steel. Bren 2 in M43 cartridge went to the French GIGN. Did it get anywhere else ? I do not know. I didnt research its spread recently.
Apart from the rather famous CZ-75 and its derivatives, its a pistol anyway, vz. 58 is afaik a great rifle IRL at least from what I know. Standard service rifle. Production ended in 1984. Since I guess the plan was to adopt 5,45 soviet caliber.
If the game wasnt supposed to be too arcadey, you could have the weapon weight determine how much you could run and stuff, but I guess that would be seen as too hardcore :P
I mean, if there was a fake war of 1983/84 Able Archer / Shchit 84 //Štít 84 BF game, I think it would have been pretty cool, especially when there is former top sikrit dokuments made non-sikrit at least from the warsaw pact side. I mean, I havent seen in a long time a bf game featuring things like T-55, 62, 64/72, M60 and its variants. I guess most of that gear today is made non-secret by now. T-80s entered service in 1976, T-80U in 85 I believe. T-72B in 84/85, while warsaw pact was still using or even beginning to produce T-72M that were very much outdated already, (but old T-72M,M1/A armor was countered by NATO only in 90-91 due to new ammo) compared to what westerners were producing. From the east, MiG-21, 23, 25 Su-17/22, Su-25, Mi-1/2/4/6//8/24D,V. There was so much gear not covered in any bf game. Bt I guess not very famous 'theater'.
scout cars, BMP 1/2, BTR, OT-64, artillery 122 mm gvozdika, 152 mm akatsia, vz. 77 Dana, 2S7 Pion/Malka modernization. BM21 (RM70, or 70/85), 27, UAVs and so much more.
