Remove weapons from any little bird style vehicles, and ensure that air vehicles have reasonable, realistic counters, and that air vehicle weapons that engage ground forces require team-work via a gunner, and can't be used solely by a pilot.
I'm not buying another Battlefield game where sweat helo pilots ruin servers going 100-0 while:
- Zooming around like they're no-clipping or using anti-grav sci-fi magic.
- Magic countermeasures that instantly break any lock from any kind of weapon (radar or infrared).
- Prevent new locks from happening even when being locked on from a different aspect to where the countermeasures are.
- That reload 1 second after the lock breaking expires.
- Get unlimited ammo and don't need to go back to base to respawn.
- Magic repairs.
- Allow sweats to lock down vehicles with macros and having tagalongs that contribute nothing to the team because all they do is sit in spawn with a vehicle select macro spamming.
- Where dedicated AA vehicles can't shoot upward, and where their airsoft level weapons make them easy prey for any air vehicle, instead of the apex predator of air vehicles who get too close to them.
- Can crash into the ground or trees or buildings and bounce away with no damage instead of blowing up.
If it were up to me, air vehicles would work as call ins from players who have performed the best in the ground battle up to that point, with the player controlling a gunner position as the vehicle makes an attack run as directed by the player and leaves again.
The obsession with air vehicles ruins servers, and ruins the game, and not just battlefield. It ruins World of Warships and War Thunder.
Remember that 95% of a server is playing battlefield for ground combat. Those people don't want a game ruined by 1 sweat in a plane.
