What's the purpose of the weapon handling change?

Real, why? So default weapons are better but attachments are now worse...so is this just a play to make the experience better for new/returning players in S1 and a middle finger to those of us that ...

@filthy_vegans They gave the impression that base guns will be better than guns with attachments but I think they meant that attachments on guns will be slightly worse than they was in the previous patch.

I definitely read the patch notes as denoting the latter rather than the former.
