@UP_LordPlumberFor me it seems like the number of kills in 2042, are lower than in older BF-games (on conquest at least).
I normally do ok (I'm old and plays casually), but often only gets between 20-30 kills. In older titles it wasn't hard to get 30+ kills consistantly (even for me). 20-30 kills are top 5-10 of most kills in many games?!?
And the number of players that have less than 20 kills in a round are pretty high.
I think the game has become too deadly (large open maps, long engagement distances) and people are playing very cautiously. The weekly missions also ends up wasting too much time (like getting 20 melee kills, x amount of damage with y gadget etc), people sems to gets 'sucked' into doing 'work' instead of playing the game as intended.
In the previous games I was confident in my ability to contest a flag against a group of enemies. In 2042 you're going into the flag area and there could be 15-20 enemy players looking at you from every direction. Once you kill 2-3 enemies, you're literally being hunted by a horde of enemy players which you cannot fight.
I've tried playing 64-player Conquest in 2042 and my theory was right. In there I easily top the scoreboard with around 70-80 kills each game. Its a lot slower, tactical, and slower paced.
As for the missions and assignments - they have been a pain all the way since BF3. For some reason they just keep coming up with these ridiculous missions that force you to go off course just to complete some BS mission for rewards/battlepass.
