Personally i really enjoy playing it on xbox one. No pc elitists on crossplay and it is obvious that 64 players is the sweet spot. Plus ps5 and series x are still vaporware unless you want to pay scalper prices - ElliotLH4 years agoHero+
The old consoles will be kept going for a while yet I think. There's lots of places where it's simply much more affordable to get an old gen console, not to forget the supply issues with the new ones if cost isn't an issue.
Yeah they usually keep supporting them years after a new generation is out.
With the global component shortage resulting in a low supply of new gen consoles, I wouldn't be surprised if the life cycle of Ps4 and Xone gets even longer than usual.
Devs/publishers want to make money, so not releasing a game on old gen if possible would be kind of stupid considering the install base the Ps4 for examples has.
Last time I saw the sales numbers there were around 116.000.000 Ps4 sold vs around 14.000.000 Ps5's.@Flavin913When the majority of the players can get access to the new gen. EA is not going to move on until they can fleece as many people as possible.
@Psubond Games are being held back by sub laptop APU's. Next gen only would have seen more destruction imo.
MS has ended support for the One Halo being the last crossgen game they had if any 2021 game is also running native on a One and not cloud based I'd be shocked, Sony said no crossgen but everything bar Demon Souls and Rachet is crossgen with no end in sight. CoD MWII is cross gen per leaker..
Just depends on the devs vision and if the game can be scaled down to last gen.
@-DFA-Thump Yet crossgen games are selling more on PS5 vs PS4... .

I felt this so much. It makes me sad to play on PS5, because crossplay is the only option right now with so few next Gen players.
- Psubond4 years agoLegend@1Hairy-Gorilla There are not enough next gen systems in the wild to make the kind of money they (ea) want to make. the reason you didnt get the destruction you speak of is the 128 player count not last gen consoles.
- @1Hairy-Gorilla The problem is that more is not all or near all. 20% of a billion dollar game (random number selected to prove a point) is still something they are going to be concerned about.
