- @Im_Not_Maryanne If you want the play the other maps then you need to change it over to conquest.
Did that and all I'm getting today is Kaleidoscope over and over and over...
- edgecrusherO03 years agoSeasoned Ace@Im_Not_Maryanne Which AOW mode are you choosing? I don't remember all of them, but there should be 3CQ modes and the normal 64p BT active right now (I believe changing tomorrow).
Yep, matchmaking is busted as hell right now.
I made a thread the other day about getting stuck playing manifest 5 times in a row, it seems to get "stuck" on certain maps.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out that this wouldn't even be an issue if we had a server browser and persistent servers.

Indeed!
The MM system is broken beyond repair.
@Im_Not_Maryanne i'm sorry to say that this problem will be here for a while.
- @edgecrusherO0 I know that the first choice seems to be either Exposure or Kaleidoscope. Second choice is Exodus and the third what I believe to be all conquest maps. I've been choosing the third and mostly get Kaleidoscope or Exposure. Last night I got lucky and played Hourglass, which I like. I haven't gotten Orbital, Discarded or Breakaway in over a week
- edgecrusherO03 years agoSeasoned Ace@Im_Not_Maryanne Ah, gotcha, just double checking.
Sadly...RNG gonna RNG, it hits everyone at some point. You just get unlucky and keep getting placed on servers on the same map, because the game doesn't have persistent servers. So every time you finish a server, it just picks another active one to slot you into, no map rotations or anything. And seemingly, no system to prevent/reduce playing the same map over and over.
The technology simply doesn't exist for a small indie developer like DICE.

It seems the only maps showing in 128 player conquest modes are Exposure and Kaleidoscope. I still hate Kaleidoscope. Where are all the other maps? I like Exposure but I need some variety
Welcome to a Battlefield "Live Service". BFV had a similar issues regarding quantity of new maps released although in 2042 it seems to be much worse regarding the number of maps shipped in the same time period. So far it looks like the next year will have only 4 maps if we take recently developer comments on the new "map" at face value. We used to call 4 maps a single content drop under the Premium system and maps are for an FPS like Battlefield the life blood and only real content that matters although new gadgets and weapons do help.
Why does the number of maps dropping at one time matter? The community gets burned out on maps, and when you get an injection of 4 new maps the community can play them with renewed vigor for 1-2 months before they start to get stale. If you drop only a single map the community gets tired of that single new map in a much shorter time - normally in 1-2 weeks instead of 1-2 months and then the community is back to other games or saying we need new content.

Very true and with BF2042 launching with only 7 AOW maps I feel it all became stale very quickly.
I was always a fan of premium, guaranteed 4 maps every 3 months, it was like getting a whole new game each DLC drop.

@RayD_O1 the thing everyone fails to mention in the premium discussions is if you purchased Premium you got a $10 discount on the total price of all of the maps compared to those who purchased them piecemeal. I can justify $40 for 16 maps issued at 4 maps every quarter.
