Where Are The Players?

I have observed the same and a good question from irikotori.  I am playing in the Oceania region and can basically only start a game with FNB games as it allows 1 player to start. Long may it continue.

It's very hard for me to know this. I live in Turkey. I'm in Istanbul. I'm on the European continent, but I don't know whether the servers I use are from the Asian or European continent. Judging by the nicknames and conversations of the players I play with, I think I'm on the European servers. But it doesn't really matter to me because there is also a strong player base in Asia.

The game is almost 3.5 years old, so yes player decline can be expected at this stage of the life cycle. Depending on region and if you play with crossplay on or off finding full servers might become more and more challenging.

irikotori​  are you on PC? If so I can show you how to see which region matchmaking is connecting you to. It involves running a traceroute.

I can confirm. Over the past few days, most of the times servers are filled mostly with AI players. People in the chat noticed this too. 

One of best decisions from DICE removing server browser and let players rely only on matchmaking. Most likely the same thing will happen with the next Battlefield as well. 

Thank you for your offer, but I couldn't understand its importance for me. If there is a setting that allows me to change my server, that would be better.

Can you explain more on this?

NizBotIO​  To see the location of the game server matchmaking is connecting you to. Run a traceroute to find the server's IP address. Then lookup the location of the IP address.

If you want matchmaking to connect you to game servers in a different location because there's more players, you'd need to use a VPN.
