Geez, not to sound ungrateful for the map changes we got, but I really don't think it took an entire map "team" to get us those edits that were made. To me it makes no sense as they were not true redesigns where you'd need more than 1 person to do what was done. Wasn't it mostly drag-n-drop edits for the most part?
I dunno, maybe I'm just dead wrong there.
All this does is back the ideas that there is only a skeleton crew still working on the game and that once Season 4 ends, they will cut support for the game. Which I hope they don't. The game has so much potential and is getting better and better but we need more content, we need more maps specifically. More portal maps. Right now there is only 15 maps after one year when there should be almost doubled that.
I want to be wrong. But I don't think we'll see anything new beyond two more Season maps, a few gadgets and new cosmetics. EA and DICE insist they are all in on Battlefield but it's hard to believe that when progress is so slow and the content we want to see just isn't happening.
Though they say they are listening to the community they have very selective hearing. I don't believe they have ever responded to the requests for new Portal maps, squad management tools, persistent servers, etc, etc. When it's something they can or are willing to fix, they say "look, we listened and delivered, aren't we great" but they remain silent on everything else.
BF2042 could have been amazing, it could have been the ultimate BF game with classic maps from previous games to bolster the new ones, but when Season 4 comes to an end I think, content wise, that will be it.

We can only hope they will surprise us, BF2042 really needs a welcome boost after all the problems it's had.

Regarding Persistent Servers they had responded to that [whcih is why we don't see the thread bumped several times a day anymore] stating that they can't do it for AOW but implemented some form of it for Portal servers to persist without anyone signed into them [as long as you have a Battlepass premium] for up to a week.
I want more portal maps and weapons!

I agree, it would be great to get an update on this, there are so many decent maps they could add to freshen up BF2042 going forward.Portal has turned into a bit of a wasteland of untapped potential. Creating portal legacy maps and then not investing in creating more!
Strike at Karkand, Sharqi Penninsula could have been easy wins.
