@rippedwire01 Technically I don't mind if a Takedown is 3rd person or 1st person, if the implementation works consistently and is not stupid.
Currently the implementations only work from directly behind the target, when it is mostly unmoving.
And the 3rd person implementation always assumes, that the target is standing.
Every condition outside of these requirements make the 3rd person Takedown either an inconsistent hack and slash, or stupid, by first moving the target into the standing position. Which results that targets in the more vulnerable stances - kneeling and prone - have a higher probability to be saved by a teammate.
All Battlefield 4 Takedowns are more consistent and less stupid that the BF2042 Takedowns, and I actually don't care if its shown to me in 1st or 3rd person.
With the only issue of the buggy camera positioning of the 3rd person Takedown, where I think that there are more pressing issues needs fixing than to waste time on this.
i don't like the 3rd person takedowns in a first person game personally. i also don't think vehicles should be able to do 3rd person but that is an entirely different discussion for a different time

Totally agree on both fronts.

The third person takedown is likely a decision to show off your skin to you and was to encourage micro transaction (skin) purchases. Obviously that’s all out of the window atm but yet again we pay the price for poor management decisions.
