Because it is overperforming.
A good nightbird pilot can dodge AA missiles without even needing flare because of the speed.
Right now Nightbird doesn't even need to hit the target to get a kill its AoE splash is about 5 feet radius
They are simply making it so you actually have to hit the people you shoot to kill.
So a "Good PIlot" will not even feel the nerf.

That's not true at all. They definitely don't have too much splash damage and from my experience you have to be pretty damn accurate with it to get kills and it also takes several hits to even get a kill.

I'm surprised that they are nerfing cannons when missles is where NB really shines.
- 4 years ago@Anonymou88 Agreed. Splash damage isnt high enough at all.
- 4 years ago@nickmajic Try it with the first unlockable rocket pod, it's 2 or 3 near hits.
Also, the hokum's pilot cannon (the last unlock) is better at killing infantry vs the HE cannon on the little bird, difference is you can't overextend with the hokum and survive unlike the little bird.
That last bit is the nerf.
Also, calling the little bird with HE cannons and upgraded rocket pods "weak" against infantry is a joke, hopefully?
- 4 years ago@The_Suit05 Splash damage in the default rockets is terrible. Takes all 8 or whatever missiles to kill one person sometimes, even with direct aim at a enemy. Splash is considerably less than anything on BF4.

I mean..saying a good pilot can avoid AA in BF2042 is just a ridicolous comment to make. You cant really avoid it unless you are lucky. You have 1 set of flares... and opposing team has the ability to use AA launcher on all 64 people thats playing. Theres no way to avoid AA missiles, Sundance grenade rockets. Dont make an excuse for the AA Launcher just because you dont like Air vehicles.
