Isn't that what the majority of dogtags and medals are for anyway though? We still have regular rank titles and there isn't necessarily anything wrong with wanting to see numbers go up

Ended up as a colonel (didn't fly planes or helis so that restricted me from higher ranking) unlocked all medals and badges except for the expansion packs didn't get them.
But it was a huge amount of fun ranking up and seeing high ranks ingame was a "battlefield" moment
- GRiPSViGiL5 years agoSeasoned Ace@D3AD_M3AT_au I remember people making such a big deal about 4 star generals. High ranks usually mean one thing.....you are looking at someone that is no life-ing the game. Not saying that is bad thing, it's just the reality of climbing to high ranks.

I in bf 2 I didnt care about my rank, those who had many ribbons tended to be actually pros who knew what they were doing. There were really few.
So it meant that somebody played a lot.

If I have to grind for a month, just to gain one rank, I'm probably going to lose interest due to the sheer amount of repetitiveness. I'm not a grinder kind of gamer. Being a creature of efficiency, and time being valuable and all that, I do like to feel like I'm making decent progress.
