They are old weapons, leave them as-is. I played a match with a BF3 LMG which had horrendous vertical recoil and I thought, oh, that should be fixed, until I realized that this is how the weapon is and I enjoyed using it as a challenge. You can't fit the character of a modern weapon unto those from previous titles, doing so would remove any uniqueness of that weapon, even if it is harder to use.
@skates15 Whilst I agree with the sentimental value behind it, that's what Portal is for. Every single weapon and vehicle in 2042's roster should be balanced according to how it performs in relation to other counterparts.
