Agreed, last gen looks rough.
It runs like crap everywhere. Old gen isn't special.
I've played on XSX and my PS4 Pro.
XSX has TERRIBLE stuttering on some maps like Hourglass. At least it did, not sure if that got fixed.
On PS4 Pro the only obvious performance issue is the nightmarish low poly player models during load.
I haven't played on PC yet, but I think I'm being generous when I say PC performance is not good.

i'm on xbox one and the game runs fine other than loading textures for the pre game screens. i do get a little frame rate stuttering when the rocket launches on orbital for about 3 seconds.
other than those two minor things i think the xbox one version runs fine and i would much rather deal with those two small issues and get to have 64 player maps instead of 128 and dealing with all the stuff that next gen/pc has to deal with
I have a terrible stutter and LAG, even worse when you play with vehicles like NIGHTBIRD, ATTACK HELICOPTER, JET, ETC because it has to process more information and the FPS drops too much and the game becomes unplayable. I have tried everything from rebuilding the database to reinstalling the game and the problem continues since the problem is the poor performance in old gen. I BF 4 when I changed from PS3 to PS4 the change hardly differed and the performance was 10.
It is not only the old gens having issue with BF2042, even the Xbox Series X can't handle this game at times and often dumps back to the home screen when the action is too much, sometimes even powers down the xbox completely, and once bricked the series X so hard the start button would not turn it back on until I unplugged the console first. Every time this happens, the front of the xbox is near meltdown temps to the touch...so I think the game simply pushes the series X to failure sometimes...
