Why Doesn't EA/DICE See The Potential of Portal?
I purchased Battlefield 2042 mainly for the Portal option; the main game is a little too 'cartoony' for me with the operators. But like all of you, I'm very frustrated with EA/DICE complete lack of updates for Portal. Portal could easily be the future of Battlefield; the ability to play all versions of Battlefield with custom settings in one browser, is HUGELY powerful. If EA/DICE could stop chasing trends, they could make Portal epic. 1) Hire a large number of developers who do nothing but port over the old classic BF1, BF3, BF4, BF5 and Bad Company maps and weapons to the new 2042 engine. 2) Ask the large Battlefield community to be beta testers, 3) Start offering rent-a-server again, which could bring in a lot of additional revenue and 4) Spin off Portal as its own game as Battlefield Classic. This strategy would not only excite the Battlefield community, but it would bring in new fans by introducing them to the franchise by playing all the previous games in one app. I just don't understand why EA/DICE have not only given up on Portal, but can't see the enormous potential.
