Why is Examining Weapons so Poorly implemented? Why is there so much DoF?

So it would seem like the entire Weapon Preview was just a placeholder of some kind, as rotating the weapon only rotates it on a single axis, no other axis can be rotated. What makes it even worse is that when you zoom in, it doesn't even zoom in on the "weapon", it zooms in to the side of the weapon. And because only one axis can be rotated, you can't move the weapon back into view without zooming out. Expected behavior is simple really, the weapon should be fixed to the center of the screen.

When you examine assault rifles and such, the exact same issue is present except with the addition of this obnoxious depth of field blur that can't be turned off. It's like, what is the point of examining the weapon if it's just gonna have a depth of field blur preventing you from seeing it. It was clearly not thought out.

Though one can understand, this specific part of the game was by far the least important issue with respect to how everything else was.

  • @S3SSioN_SoL this is a great example of a half-baked game. There were so many things like this that were placeholders but the game still got pushed out the door.
